Tips for a cozy kitchen

The kitchen and dinning area, are almost every time, or tend to be the most used spaces in a home. Well, more if they are the same thing.  Especially during the holidays, when even if you don't usually cook during the year, you try to come up with a delicious dish, or help the people who actual cook. I did both, *wink*.

Personally, the main reason I don't cook very often is that I loathe washing the pots, pans, saucepans, trays & co. Weird, right? Because I don't mind doing the dishes.
Kitchens must look smashing, keep an eye for pretty furniture and appliances.
So, here are a couple of tips:
Furniture wise, try a  glass cupboard to make the space more homey, and to avoid the extra cleaning. If you're not a fan glass and don't want everybody to see your dishes, oak kitchen cabinets are always a good idea.
Make sure you have flowers, flowers always brighten a room.
I personally find this dinning area by Gaile Guevara, very cozy. I know it's almost all white, and goes a bit to the commercial side of decor but white is always welcomed. Try to incorporate white in your kitchen.
Don't forget about the pop of color also, fruits & flowers!
Go for a limited color palette and organic tableware & accessories for a cozy look.
Rattan baskets are great for extra storage and they look fab also. Mismatched chairs look awesome also.
A solid wood island can do wonders.
Flea markets are filled with little treasure for your kitchen and bring a vintage touch to the space.

This year, like every year we gathered at my grandma's house around a beautiful oak kitchen dinning set for the festive dinner. How about you?
